AWS Public Sector Conference

JHC Technology was thrilled to be a part of the biggest Amazon Web Services Public Sector conference to date.  Held in Washington, DC, there were hundreds of public sector partners and clients in town to talk about all things AWS.  It was a great time to catch up with friends from years past and an even better time in finding out about all the incredible things that AWS is helping companies around the world implement.
There was a crazy demonstration at lunch by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory about how they are leveraging the compute power of AWS to process data coming back from the Mars rover, Curiosity.  We also heard from a company that took a genome project from an estimated 12-year computing workload to a 4.5 hour project using spot instances.  Unreal.
Mostly, the conference was a great way for us to see how others are working with AWS and all the possibilities that are out there.  We’re pretty happy with what we’ve done so far and are proud that it seems we’re leading the way with our solutions on AWS and GovCloud.  JHC Technology already has multiple years of experience in migrating data and processes to the cloud, and specifically the AWS cloud environment.
Next up for JHC is a trip to Las Vegas (er, Vegas, baby!) for re:Invent, the first global Amazon Web Services conference.  In fact, we’re so happy to be headed out there that we’re throwing a party for all of our AWS friends.  Check out the invitation here and be sure to join us for a great night to open AWS’s re:Invent.
